Getting To Know Me

Hi!

If you've made it this far, you know that my name is Rachel Nott. I am a country girl by chance (born and raised in Terre Haute, Indiana), but a city girl at heart (soon-to-be based in Chicago).

I am an actor, singer, songwriter, intimacy director, and a blossoming composer. Loyal to the midwest, I studied Musical Theater at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois where I graduated Summa Cum Laude with honors in 2026.
It should come as no great surprise that performing has always been a passion of mine. Coming from a family of musicians, choir teachers, and even radio DJs, you discover performance opportunities are everywhere- anywhere from local children's choirs to belting The Elmo Song in the stands of your big brother's baseball game.
This is something I have always prided myself on- creating opportunities for myself where none existed previously, and taking advantage of every opportunity that crosses my path.
I try to live by the motto that every new experience is a learning opportunity.

Whether you're looking for a strong, powerful female lead, a joyous comedic relief, or a killer understudy, I am never one to back away from any challenge.

Glimpses Into My Life

My Greatest Accomplishments:

Theatre & Community Service
Shakespeare Corrected
Community service means a lot to me. Shakespeare Corrected is a program at Millikin University that brings student-led artistic programming to marginalized communities within the Decatur area. Most notably. the program works with the Decatur Women's Correctional Center and puts up a Shakespeare production with the incarcerated individuals every spring, but we also work with underprivileged schools, children with developmental disabilities, and elderly individuals in assisted living facilities. For me, nothing was more fulfilling at my time in Millikin than going into these facilities and fostering human connections through the arts.
Carnation Carnival
Like I mentioned, community service is a huge part of my life. During my time at Millikin, I served as the Vice President of Philanthropy of Alpha Chi Omega. During the second semester of my term, I changed our tradition a little by planning and creating a brand new, original event called the Carnation Carnival, named after our chapter's flower. Our DIY parking lot carnival broke our chapter's fundraising record, more than doubling what we were raising several years prior. The money raised went straight to our local domestic violence shelter, and this I consider to be my greatest personal accomplishment.
Noises Off &
Cinderella
During my very first professional summer season (at Crossroads Repertory Theater), I was cast as Poppy in Noises Off and Ensemble in Cinderella. However, several weeks into the rehearsal process, another actress was in a car accident and was unable to continue the season. We had no understudies, so in true Noises Off fashion, I took on her role of Brooke and our ASM was in for Poppy. Additionally, I took on her role as Charlotte. With only 3 dress rehearsals for Noises Off, I completed an 8-show run with no line or blocking errors. Same as with Cinderella. I believe this experience speaks to my ability to learn quickly, adapt, and work hard outside of the allotted rehearsal time.
